Coronavirus: Chief Imam urges Muslims to adhere to government’s directive

The National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, has called on the Muslim community to strictly adhere to the protocols put in place by President Akufo-Addo and other authorities, to manage the coronavirus, COVID-19.

Ghana has so far recorded six cases of the Coronavirus.

Sheikh Osman Nuhu Sharubutu, expressed worry over the spread of the virus in the country.

At a media briefing, spokesperson for the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu, reiterated the need for Ghanaians to stay indoors to avoid the spread of the virus. The National Chief Imam will lead Muslims for prayers against COVID-19.

He also added his voice on calls to stop the planned conference by the Pan Africa International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association, scheduled in Accra in July this year.

He described homosexuality as evil that must not be countenanced in any way because it is despised by God.
