A Human Rights Court in Accra has dismissed an injunction application by former Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta, who sought to stop the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), led by Mr. Kissi Agyabeng from declaring him wanted.
Mr. Ofori-Atta went to court on March 27, asking that his name and photo be removed from the OSP’s list of wanted persons. He argued that the continued display of his personal details on the OSP’s social media pages was unfair and damaged his reputation.
He also wanted the court to stop the OSP from making similar declarations in the future without court approval.
However, on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, the court ruled that Mr. Ofori-Atta did not meet the legal conditions needed for such an injunction.
Justice Amoako, who delivered the ruling, said the harm Mr. Ofori-Atta complained about could be addressed through compensation, rather than an injunction.
As a result, the court not only threw out the request but also ordered Mr. Ofori-Atta to pay GH¢5,000 in legal costs.
