An Accra High Court presided over by Justice Stephen Oppong has fixed June 23 to rule on an interlocutory injunction suit challenging the directives of the President over Executive Instrument, EL 63, which seeks to establish the Emergency Communications System-Instrument, 2020.

The applicant through his lawyers led by Justice Srem Sai filed an amended version of both their original suit and that of the interlocutory injunction with its accompanying statements of case.

The court prior to adjourning the case said there will be no oral argument, while ordering that should anybody have any process to file, they must do so before June 15, 2020.

A private legal practitioner, Francis Kwarteng Arthur instituted a court action against the government seeking to stop the President, KelniGVG and the National Communication Authority from relying on EL 63 to procure personal information system from MTN  Ghana and Vodafone for purposes of contact tracing in the COVID-19 pandemic.
