President Akuffo Addo says the cost of testing for COVID-19 at the Kotoka International Airport has been reduced to 50 dollars for ECOWAS nationals and 150 dollars for other nationals.

Meanwhile government last week started meetings with vaccine manufacturers in Ghana to prospect the possibility of manufacturing COVID-19 vaccines locally.

The Minister of Health nominee, Kwaku Agyeman-Manu who made this known in Parliament disclosed that government over the past three days had been meeting with the manufacturers. He informed Parliament that the time for manufacturing local vaccines is now.

Mr. Agyeman-Manu, who is MP for Dormaa Central, acknowledged that the spread of the viral disease had become worse as transmissibility is far bigger than before in the wake of the detection of the new variant.

He further informed the House that close to about 20 million facemasks had been procured and they are being distributed to educational institutions across the country.
