The Church of Pentecost (COP) in keeping with the directives from the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has suspended all church activities and gatherings. This means all weekly church services, mid-week services as well as group meetings and fellowships have been suspended for four weeks.

Speaking to GBC’s Mark Smith, the Wa Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, Daniel Nii Tetteh Tackie, said following the suspension of the gatherings, the Church would make good use of technology, social media and mainstream media to send out messages that would be reassuring to Ghanaians in a time like this.

Pastor Tackie said personal phone calls would also be made to congregants to ensure they keep faith with God. He encouraged members of the church to continue to watch the Church’s media outlet, Pent TV for daily and weekly messages.

“This is not the time to panic,” he observed, adding that, “over the years, God has been with us and will continue to be with us.”

He advised Ghanaians to go about their daily duties with strict compliance to the directives and protocols instituted by Presidency and the Ministry of Health.

Pastor Tackie said the Church will continue to pray for an end to the novel Coronavirus to allow for the review of the suspension of social activities by the President.
