Curfew imposed on Drobo, Japekrom following deadly clashes over disputed land

A curfew has been imposed on Drobo and Japekrom in Brong Ahafo from 6.00am to 6.00pm following deaths that occurred after clashes over a disputed land. Two people have been confirmed dead.
Speaking on ‘Behind the News’ a news and current affairs programme on Uniiq FM, the Regional Police Public Relations Officer, and Chief Inspector Augustine Kingsley Oppong said the police and the military have been deployed to the area to restore calm. He said no arrests have been made because painstaking investigations are ongoing to establish the real culprits behind the conflict.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Jaman South, Yaw Afful said the imposition of the curfew has normalised the tensed situation in the area.
The Secretary to the Peace Council in the area, Suallah Abdul Quandah said the Council will dialogue with the people of Japekrom and Drobo to see how best the conflict can be resolved.
