Death toll in Kitampo-Tamale motor accident rises to 33

The number of people confirmed dead in Monday, March 9 gory accident in Kintampo has risen to thirty three.

Earlier reports indicated that a Grandbird Bus veered off its lane and collided head-on with a Sprinter Bus.

Giving an account of what happened on GBC’s current affairs programme, ‘Behind The News’, on Monday, the Kintampo North Divisional Police MTTD Commander, DSP Francis Adjei Brobbey, said three children are among the victims.

He said initial indication points to the fact that the Grand Bird Bus driver was sleeping whiles driving.

DSP Adjei Brobbey said they are still investigating the incident.

DSP Francis Adjei Brobbey said accident prevention squad are deployed on roads to help keep drivers in check but there is the need for more education.
