Energy Think Tank at the Institute for Energy Security (IES), says government’s decision to select a new partner for the power concession agreement through restrictive tendering is dangerous and a recipe for corruption and cronyism.
The Executive Director of the Institute, Paa Kwesi Anamoah-Sakyi said such a move will not allow for broader consultation and alternatives.  It will also not ensure value for money.
Government early this week announced the decision to terminate the power concession agreement with Power Distribution Services (PDS).
Speaking on the Uniiq Breakfast Drive, Mr. Anamoah-Sakyi, said leadership and technical competence must be key in running the energy sector.
