Dilapidated bridge at Abensu poses threat to residents

Residents of Abensu in the Ga North Municipality of the Greater Accra Region have sent an SOS for the quick repair of their footbridge, which stretches over the Nsaki River.

The footbridge is now a safety risk as portions have caved in and the concrete slabs holding it aground broken.

They say they fear for their lives especially for school children who regularly cross over to nearby schools in Pokuase, as the community has no school.

GBC’s Soyokuor Quarcoo-Tchire was at Abensu and reports that disaster looms, especially with the onset of the rains.
