The 13 percent increase in transport fares announced by the Ghana Road Transport Co-Coordinating Council and GPRTU has taken effect.

Some Driver Associations are calling on the authorities to take a second look at the new fares because it falls short of the 20 percent they demanded.

Furthermore, some transport owners are unhappy with the new fares saying, it does not correspond with the frequent adjustments in fuel prices and the increasing prices of spare parts.

Nana Ama Omari visited some bus terminals in Accra to gauge the mood following the new road transport fares and the extent of compliance.
