A young seamstress from Doba in the Kasena Nankana West District in the Upper East Region, Miss ‘Sarah, has recounted how her lover disappeared into thin air without saying goodbye due to the conflict.

Sarah and her boyfriend started seeing each other in 2019 after meeting at an accident scene along Navrongo Road.

They’d been dating for over a year and had spent much of their time visiting each other and discussing marriage.

In 2021, things started taking a different turn. Their amorous love began to suffer some communication blues. Her partner acted distant and seemed more agitated than usual, easily aggravated, and with little interest in communicating with her.

“I was no longer hearing from him like I used to. He was no longer calling me again. When I call him, he doesn’t answer and will not return the calls. So that’s how it began. I’m almost 32 years old now but still without a man,” Sarah narrated how it happened.

While she was making efforts to sustain the relationship by frequently calling him on the phone, the young man was not putting up any effort, and finally broke his silence.

“I have lost my uncle and my niece in a fight at your side. I don’t think we can continue this relationship because I cannot visit you neither can you. My family is against me marrying you because we cannot drink water from same borehole,” the young businessman revealed to Sarah.

Sarah explained how devastated and heartbroken she was by the unusual behavior of her lover.

“I also lost my brother during the time of this conflict. But I didn’t say I wouldn’t marry him because of that, but that’s what he explained. So I had to take it like that. Even during my graduation, he didn’t come. My brother (deceased) was also not there to support me so I was left alone. But I thank God that peace has finally returned,” Sarah explained wiping off some tears.
