DVLA holds Mid-Year Review Conference in Koforidua

The Deputy Transport Minister, Frederick Obeng Adom has charged the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority, DVLA to divert from the traditional to the modern way customer service in order to meet the rapid changes in the automobile industry.

Speaking at the DVLA Mid-Year Review Conference in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital, the Deputy Transport Minister noted that despite the current performance of the Authority as one of the best public service institution in Ghana, the authority should not lose sight on happenings in the sub-regions.

Mr. Obeng Adom noted that the DVLA has a pivotal role to play in order to ensure safety on our roads.

He further urged the Authority to collaborate with the private sector to help deliver quality service to their clients and assured the Authority of the Ministry’s support to help them deliver on their mandate effectively.

The Chief Executive Officer, of DVLA, Kwasi Agyemang Busia noted that the authority since 2017, has embarked on a transformation agenda adding that the institution that has been tagged three years ago as the most corrupt institution in Ghana is now seen as one of the best administrative and serving institution in the country currently.

Mr. Agyemang Busia noted that the conference will offer the officers the opportunity to reflect and assess their past.

Speaking on the theme “Consolidating on Our Gains and Building on Efficient Technology-based Service Culture at DVLA Beyond Covid-19”, the CEO of DVLA noted that the authority is building a strong foundation and systems.

A Member of the DVLA Board, Francis Yao Agbozo delivering the speech on behalf of the Board Chairman of DVLA, Frank Davies demonstrated his gratitude to the staff for their loyalty, commitment and hard work, which is evident across the country.

Mr. Yao Agbozo revealed that the board has embarked on steps to address some of the challenges confronting the authority of which provision of armed police personnel to their offices at Weija and other offices.

He emphasized that any organization that fails to invest in technology will not survive the next decade.

The conference brought together over one hundred DVLA officers across the country.
