One person is reported dead in a fire that gutted a building at Begoro in the Eastern Region, after personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service were reported to have showed up in a taxi cab, with hand-held fire extinguishers.
Acting Public Relations Officer of the Fire Service, Ellice Robinson Okoe told GBC NEWS that the fire tender that served the area had broken down and is currently at the workshop.
He admits that the Service is in dire need of retooling, to facilitate disaster and fire management.
