More than two hundred aged people, widows and Persons with Disability (PWDs) in Kwahu Nkwatia in the Eastern Region have been presented with assorted items as part of the new year festivities.
The items include chicken, oil and an undisclosed amount of money presented by the Nkosuohene of Kwahu Nkwatia, Nana Owiredu Wadie at a ceremony at Nkwatia to climax the holiday celebrations.
Nana Wadie said it is only appropriate to lend a helping hand to the vulnerable to make them feel part of the society.
He called on the people to champion the course of unity and promote love so as to contribute to development.
Nana Wadie noted that his vision is to establish a factory in the area to help persons with disability to work and earn a living and called for the support of all to make it a reality.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed gratitude to Nana Owiredu Wadie for the support and called on the District Assemblies to make the disbursement of the disability fund more transparent to avoid suspicion.
