As Ghana implements measures to enhance electricity supply and eliminate power disruptions, Energy Minister John Jinapor has assured that the country’s power supply will stabilize by the end of May 2025.

‎He made this statement in response to growing concerns from the public about the recent frequent power cuts, commonly called “dumsor.”

‎Speaking in an interview with TV3, Mr. Jinapor explained that the current power challenges are due to important maintenance work being carried out on several power plants across the country.

‎He said the maintenance is necessary because many of the plants have been operating for too long without servicing. “These are plants that have gone beyond their normal operating hours. If we delay the servicing, the plants could get damaged,” he said.

‎The Minister added that most of the heavy maintenance work will be completed in May, and by June, there will be less need for repairs. He believes this will lead to a more reliable power supply.

‎Mr. Jinapor appealed to Ghanaians to be patient during this period. “We will do everything possible to reduce the impact on citizens. This is a necessary step for long-term benefits,” he assured.
