President Akufo-Addo has urged the National Identification Authority (NIA) to ensure the integrity, security and confidentiality of data collected and should be made available to only authorised institutions.

The President said this after touring the facility of Margins Group, which is in partnership with NIA to register and issue Ghana cards.

President Akufo-Addo tasked them to meet the deadline for the mass registration.

The NIA has so far registered six-point-five million people while three point seven million cards have been issued.

Margins Group established in 1990 is one of the leading providers of Integrated ID solutions in Ghana.

The Company has won international and local recognition for its quality products, excellent service delivery and Innovation.

The CEO of Margins Group, Moses Baiden, asked Ghanaians to take a keen interest in acquiring National ID, because there are a number of benefits associated with it.

President Akufo-Addo was excited about the work of the Group which is a wholly-owned Ghanaian company and employs hundreds of people.

This he said, is an indication of a vibrant private sector adding, the sector is critical to  government’s agenda to build the capacity of Ghanaian businesses to be giant in their respective areas of operations.

President Akufo-Addo urged the NIA and the Intelligent Card Production System limited under the Margins Group to protect the Data of Ghanaians.

The Intelligent Card Production System limited has been playing a key role in digitising DVLA, NHIA and Registrar General’s Department.
