The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and founder of the globally endorsed watch brand Caveman Watches, Anthony Mensah Dzamefe has opened up about his personal life stating in an interview on the GTV Breakfast Show that he used to be an assistant to a shoemaker before becoming the owner of Caveman watches.
The first Ghanaian to make made in Ghana watches, Anthony Mensah Dzamefe, also known as Caveman watches has opened up about his journey into entrepreneurship after quitting his low-paying job and venturing into the unknown to start his own business.
He spoke about how he tried so many businesses and failed during those times, explaining his reason for venturing into watch making.
Explaining how he bought a watch for GHC 50, and sold it at a reasonable amount gave him the right idea on how to start his business. He added that he later added watch repairing to his profession because he wanted to understand how watches are made and how they function.
After sometime he became an apprentice to a shoe maker in Kantamanto in order to learn how leather watches were made and then learnt how to make leather straps.
He stated that his motivation had to do with the fact that there were no Made in Ghana watches in the system at that time, the journey of Caveman watches.
He advised people to use social media wisely and conduct a sole search before venturing into a business instead of assuming that entrepreneurship is for everyone. Caveman watches recently won the brand of the year award at the just ended Emy Africa Awards.
