The Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) has arrested 320 people in Kumasi in what officials describe as the biggest anti-human trafficking and fraud operation in Ghana so far.

In a press statement issued on Thursday, November 6, 2025, EOCO said the Anti-Human Trafficking Unit carried out two separate raids at different locations in Kumasi. After an initial assessment, 25 of the people arrested are suspected to be involved in criminal activities, while 295 others are believed to be victims of human trafficking and employment scams linked to QNET.

EOCO explained that the arrests followed months of investigations into economic crimes and organised fraud schemes. The office said the screening of the individuals is ongoing, and the 25 suspected criminals will face further investigations.

According to the statement, this is the second major operation in recent weeks. Two weeks earlier, a similar EOCO operation in Kasoa led to the arrest of more than 26 people.

EOCO also confirmed that it is working with QNET to prevent criminals from using the company’s name to deceive innocent citizens. The agency praised QNET for cooperating with the investigations.

EOCO assured the public that it will continue to fight organised crime and encouraged citizens to report suspicious activities to its offices.
