An Estate Developer and Managing Director of Azila Properties Limited, Godwin Kwablah Azila, escaped death when some people numbering about 60 and allegedly wielding guns and machetes, charged on him on his property at Dodowa in the Greater Accra Region.

After his escape, the assailants burnt his Mercedes Benz saloon car.

Narrating his ordeal to journalists in Accra, Mr. Azila said the issue had to do with a 1,200 acre land he acquired from the Onyama family of Dodowa since 2015.

He said the land had been a subject of Court litigation and the ownership of the land, has been ruled on by the Court since 2008, up to the Supreme Court early this year, conferring ownership of the land to the Onyama family.

Mr. Azila alleged that some people who are not happy with the ruling destroyed properties worth millions of Cedis on the land during last month’s lockdown.

Mr. Azila accused the Police at Dodowa of doing very little about the issue as 15 petitions sent to them, have yielded no results.

An elder of the Onyama family, Tekpe Agali, expressed worry about the development and called on the IGP, to intervene in the matter. He confirmed that the land belongs to his family and the family willingly, gave the Power of Attorney of the land, to Mr. Azila.
