A suspect, Prince Essel who was dressed in full military uniform has been arrested by the police.
According to the Kokrobite District Police Command a team returning from duty, on reaching Aplaku met the suspect driving a white Saloon car with Registration No.GW 7991-12 towards the old barrier.
The suspect on seeing the service vehicle tried to hide, making the police suspicious. He was therefore chased and arrested.
A search on him revealed ten complimentary cards bearing his name and describing him as Captain of the Ghana Armed Forces and at the Office of the President.
Narrating the incident to Radio Ghana, the Public Relations Officer of the Accra Regional Police Command DSP Efia Tengeh said the suspect could not tell his unit, when questioned by the patrol team.
DSP Efia Tengeh advised the public to pay attention to the uniforms of security personnel when they appear in public. This will enable them to differentiate between genuine officers and the fake ones.
