Farmers in Kwahu West Municipality receive cocoa seedlings

More than one thousand cocoa farmers under the Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) programme in the Kwahu West Municipality in the Eastern Region have received 62 thousand cocoa seedlings for planting.

The Kwahu West Municipal Chief Executive, Yaw Owusu Addo, who handed over the seedlings to them at Adensua a suburb of Nkawkaw charged them to use the seedlings for its intended purpose.

He said a team will go round and monitor their activities after six weeks to check the progress of the programme.

He said government is poised to transform the country’s economy hence the initiative of the various social intervention programmes.

He urged all to bolster this course to help push the agenda forward.
