The Ghana Statistical Service is expected to release the final report of the 2021 Population and Housing Census in November 2021. The service is in the final stages of quality assurance which will lead to a post enumeration survey.

Government Statistician, Professor Samuel Kobina Anim, said this, when he officially presented the preliminary report of the census to President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House.

The Provisional figure from the 2021 Population and Housing Census puts Ghana’s population at 30.8 million. This means the population has grown almost fivefold since the first post-independence census conducted in 1960.

Ghana’s population is growing, but at a declining rate compared with previous censuses.
