The First Lady, Mrs. Rebecca Akufo-Addo, has cut the sod for the construction of the second phase of a market Complex for Ningo.

The second phase of the market complex which is being funded by the Rebecca Foundation, is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

The First Lady used the occasion to present  items to the Chiefs and Traditional Councils of Kpone, Ningo and Prampram as part of their Homowo celebrations.

She urged residents to take advantage of the many social interventions by Government to improve their lives.

The people of Ningo have for many years not had a suitable place to call a market to buy and sell wares.

Residents have had to go to nearby towns to do business, a situation which is a drain on their personal resources and the economy of the town.

The new market being constructed is expected to reverse the trend and improve their livelihoods.

The first lady Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo said her foundation, the Rebecca Foundation, is determined to intensify the implementation of its initiatives in all parts of the country to enhance the lives of citizens.

The items donated to the three Traditional Councils for the Homowo celebrations include bags of rice, galllons of palm-oil, drinks and cartons of water.

Mrs. Akufo-Addo also advised people of the three traditional areas not to let their guards down in the fight against Covid-19, especially following the reduction in the number of new infections.
