Mr. Kwabena Nsenkyire, the Regional NADMO Coordinator, briefing the media in Kumasi, said the authorities were still counting the cost of the damage left in the wake of the rainstorm.

He said they were mobilizing resources to assist the most affected victims, warning that people ought to take precautionary measures since the rainy season has commenced.

Some of the affected areas, including Jachie and Kuntanase, the main road from those areas to Kumasi had been blocked, and commuters had to divert, using either the Sewua or Adagya link roads.

Similar scenes were also witnessed at Abuakwa-Manhyia in the Atwima-Nwabiagya District, resulting in heavy traffic congestion in the area, especially on the Abuakwa-Sofo-Line main road.
