The programme saw to several sessions discussing the mental, social, psychological and physical growth of children from 4 – 14 years of age.

Speaking with the Head Pastor and the Sekondi District B of the Assemblies of God, Rev. Magellan Adokoh stated that it is needful for teachers to acquire knowledge in order for them to impact such knowledge in the children at an early age.

“At the end of this training, I want to see the knowledge the teachers acquired being use to impact the children “ he said.

According to the facilitator of the training, Mrs. Sylvia Ahadzi, she said her love for children propelled her to embark on such a journey.

She further said, when children are given to children at their early stages, it makes them responsible citizens in the future and a major means is through the teachers at the various churches.

“If the foundation on which you are putting up your building is strong, whatever you put on it will collapse. Teachers can reach out to the children in their communities and churches through the word of God” she stated.

Regional Trainers Sylvia Ahadza and Gloria Anderson took the participants through topics targeted at meeting the needs of the now generation.

Topics treated includes, knowing yourself as a teacher, skills needed to be an effective teacher and the act of teaching using drama, games and songs.

Speaking with some participants, they mentioned that the training was impactful and all that they needed to know has been taught and that they are also going to inculcate the word of God in the children so as to grow and become good citizens.

Four fourteen, a non-governmental organization seeks to rescue children under the ages of four and fourteen and impact them with the word of God.
