A nationwide ban on hunting for game took effect yesterday and ends on December 1 2021. The law was passed in 1971 to protect and preserve the wildlife population from going extinct.

It is also meant to conserve some of the animals for posterity. Correspondent Thomas Nsowah-Adjei spoke with the Kumasi Zoo Manager, Dr. Meyir Ziekah on the ban on hunting.

While appealing to hunters to cooperate, he explained that the move has in the past yielded positive results.
