Four remanded over murder of Policewoman in Tamale

The Tamale District Court Tuesday remanded four accused persons allegedly involved in the murder of a police woman into prison custody.

Three of the four persons appeared in court whiles the other could not appear because he is currently receiving treatment at the Tamale Teaching hospital.

The Presiding Judge, Seidu Amadu declined to give bail to the accused persons and remanded them to reappear on the 22nd of this month.

The Judge said even though he respects the liberty and rights of individuals, he is of the view that the accused must be remanded as investigations are carried out.

He also advised the police to speed up investigations.

About a week ago, a female police officer, Agatha Nana Nabin was shot dead by armed men at a checkpoint in the Sagnarigu Municipality of the Northern Region.

She was among three officers stationed at a checkpoint close to a fuel filling station along the Kumbungu road.
