The Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) and Police Service have assured the public that activities of the Homeland Study Group Foundation, which occurred at dawn yesterday (September 25, 2020), in Juapong, Sogakope, Aveyime, Mepe and Akuse have been brought under control.

A statement signed by both security agencies indicated that a joint Military-Police Team, together with other security agencies deployed to the affected areas succeeded in apprehending 31 members of the Group who have been brought to Accra for interrogation.

Fire exchanges between the Group and the Security Agencies led to the death of one member of the group with four injured including the Police Commander at Aveyime.

The statement said all road blocks have been cleared and the security agencies have taken control of the highways and strategic installations within the Region.

They entreated all to remain calm and volunteer any relevant information on the activities of the Group for necessary action to be taken.
