Garden City Radio-Television hails “Famous Fufu” at Food Bazaar

Staff of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, in the Ashanti region have climaxed their Heritage Month with a Food Bazaar. The event saw the women staff exhibit their cooking skills to the delight of everyone.

The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, GBC, set aside the month of March as a Heritage Month during which the Corporation through various activities promotes indigenous cultures and traditions. Staff of the Garden City Radio and Garden City Television, used the Heritage Month to promote their cultures.

On the climax of the month-long celebration on Friday April 1, 2022, the staff attended work in traditional apparels from the diverse ethnic groups. The highlight was a Food Bazaar. The meals on the menu included the famous Fufu, mashed boiled plantain or 3t), *Nuhoo* prepared from boiled cocoyam mixed with palm nut soup, Ampesie, Tuo Zaafi, a popular dish for the people of northern Ghana, together with Sobolo and palm wine. The men also engaged in some popular traditional games such as Oware, draught, Playing Cards and ludo. Dora Ayebea of the Marketing Department, shared her experience of the Food Bazaar, advocating traditional meals as the way to go.

Head of Marketing, Eugene Wordie Kotey, also shared with GBCNews his impressions of the event. He believes it should become a way of life.

The Ashanti Regional Director of GBC, Abubakari Alhassan, explained it is their mandate to showcase Ghana through Food and many more.
