GBC staff installed as new Adontenhemaa of Mireku Traditional Area

The Adontenhene of Mireku Traditional Area, Nana Adoma Baffour, has assured the people of Mireku of his Leadership’s commitment to issues pertaining to youth development in the area.

According to him, with the able assistance of Mireku Adontenhemaa Nana Akosuah Kumi Sasraku Sradaa, they will tackle the issue of Youth delinquency which has been a big challenge in the area and find a lasting solution to it.

He was addressing a gathering at a Thanksgiving durbar held in the honour of the newly installed Adontenhemaa of Mireku Nana Akosuah Kumi Sasraku Sradaa at Aboabo Number 4 in the Bono Region.

Nana Sasraku Sradaa for her part called for more support for the various queen mothers to help in their agenda of pushing the welfare of females to the forefront and also address the issue of teenage pregnancy which is rampant in the area.

In her address, the MCE for Dormaa West, Mary Ameyaa charged the people of Aboabo Number 4 to hold their culture in high esteem so as to avoid the negative implications associated with neglecting their culture.

She said the adoption of foreign culture at the expense of their indigenous culture will go against them in the long run. She also advised the youth of the area to pay heed to the counsel giving to them by the traditional authority so as to help them in their lives.

Nana Akosuah Kumi Sasraku Sradaa known in Private life as Florence Kumi was on the 4th of November installed as the new Adontenhemaa of the Mireku Traditional Area.

On the back of the successful enstoolment, a Thanksgiving durbar was held in her honour to offer thanks to the Almighty God and also as an avenue to celebrate the milestone.

The colourful ceremony was well attended by the Chiefs from Dormaa and beyond, the clergy, friends and family who had come to celebrate with their family and comrade.

She was honored by the GBC Ladies Club with Citation for her contribution to the club, of which she is a staunch member and the Bono and Ahafo Regional President.
