GBC Volta Star Radio’s Tilda Elinam Acorlor wins Best Sports Journalist For The Third Time

A journalist with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, (GBC), Tilda Elinam Acorlor, has won the Best Sports Journalist of the year 2018, in Volta region at the 3rd Ghana Journalists Association’s award for the Volta region.
The award was held under the theme “Environmental Cleanliness, Media as Vanguard. Don’t Drop that Litter.”
Some media practitioners in the Volta and Oti region were awarded for works in Education, Health, Sanitation/Environment, Sports, Agriculture, Economics/Business, Disability, Child Protection and Tourism.
The event also celebrated the best morning show, most promising journalist, and the overall best journalist of the year.
Tilda Elinam Acorlor, who won two previous editions of the awards, making her 3rd time award winner with 2 previous articles, Sports and Sanitation, “Dont Drop that Litter but Drop that Litter”.
A feature story that entreats Sportsmen to be aware of the important role sports hygiene and sanitation plays an in preventing diseases from dangerous germs that cause infections and illness to sports athletes.
Speaking after receiving her award, Ms. Acorlor expressed her delight for emerging the winner for the third time and dedicated the award to her Parents (Mom and Dad).
“I’m so much grateful for winning this award for the third time, and I have to thank my Mom and Dad who allowed me to persue my dreams in a male dominated field.”
“My aim as a sports journalist is to use sports as a tool for development in my community”.
