Ghana Airports Company to leverage on Kotoka Airport Terminal 3 to attract more Airlines

The Minister for Aviation, Joseph Kofi Adda says the idea of having a new national airline is an old fashion approach to taking advantage of the prospects of the airline industry.

He noted that government is rather looking at using Public-Private Partnership arrangement that will inure to the benefit of the country and not a wholly state owned carrier.

Mr. Adda said this when he toured the newly constructed terminal 3 at the Kotoka International Airport to ascertain its readiness, to fully operate by October 2, 2018.

The Aviation Minister, hoped the facility, which he described as top class and comparable to any terminal in the World, will be maintained regularly to continue to serve the travelling public. He was impressed about the level of work done by the contractors.

The Managing Director of Ghana Airports Company, John Attafuah, who took the Minister round the new terminal, said the company is leveraging on the new terminal to attract more airlines to Ghana.

The 275 million dollar facility was started by the previous administration to adequately handle the increasing number of passengers and flights that use the airport.
