Social Workers call for swift passage of welfare bill

The Ghana Association of Social Workers, GASOW has made a case for the swift passage of the social welfare bill into law to help alleviate the plight of Social Workers.

Speaking to GBC News, the second Vice-Chairperson of the Association, Alexis Dery-Danikuu, was optimistic the myriad of challenges impeding social work particularly poor condition of service will be a thing of the past with the passage of the bill.

He, therefore, appealed to stakeholders to speed up processes towards its realization. His comments come in the wake of the arrest of some social workers who were implicated in the recent baby sale in some major hospitals in the country.
