Government is to explore areas where it can collaborate effectively with Canada to improve its operations in the aviation sector.

The Minister of Aviation, Joseph Kofi Addah who made this known when the Canadian ambassador called on him in Accra said Ghana’s quest of becoming an aviation hub in the sub region, requires close partnerships with countries like Canada who have good track record of doing well in the aviation industry, especially in the manufacturing of aircrafts.

He said Ghana is considering exploring that country’s credit facilities available in the acquisition of aircrafts to add to the fleet of the home-based carrier.

Mr. Addah noted that Ghana will also seek support in capacity building as it moves away from solely airline activities to the training of pilots and crew members.

Canada’s Ambassador to Ghana, Mrs. Heather Cameron praised the long standing relations between the two countries.

She said Canadian airlines have already increased the number of flights that ply the country’s aviation routes.
