Ghana capable of reviving its economy – President Akufo-Addo

President Akufo-Addo has impressed on Ghanaians to believe in the country’s capacity to turn its fortunes around and build a modern and progressive nation with equal opportunity for all.

He said despite the current economic challenges fueled by both internal and external factors, Ghana’s economy will be revived with the measures put in place by the Government.

Speaking at the 4th Founders’ Day Luncheon in honor of Senior Citizens in Accra, President Akufo-Addo noted that it is most appropriate to recognize and appreciate the collective efforts of the country’s forebears as they sacrificed a lot for the nation.

August 4 which is observed as Founders’ Day is also used to recognize and remember Senior citizens and the sacrifices our forebears made for the country.

This is the fourth time the day has been commemorated since President Akufo-Addo declared August 4th as Founders’ Day.

Addressing the gathering after interacting with some of the senior citizens who graced the occasion, President Akufo-Addo said the nation remains indebted to the Senior citizens for their contributions.

He said the importance of the founders’ day cannot be overemphasized as the forebears made a lot of sacrifices for the nation stressing that it is important to pay homage to these great people.

President Akufo-Addo bemoaned the fact that despite the giant strides made, Ghana still encounters challenges which are driven by both internal and external factors.

He was however confident that the economy will be revived pledging his commitment to build a prosperous nation.

He called on all to believe in the capacity of Ghanaians to change the fortunes of the economy.
