Ghana Chamber of Commerce, DBG organise capacity building workshop for SMEs

The Ghana Chamber of Commerce and Industries, GNCCI, in collaboration with the Development Bank Ghana, DBG, has organized a capacity-building workshop for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, SMEs in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional capital.

The workshop was to empower SME owners and managers in the region with the requisite skills for sustainable growth and resilience to scale-up their business operations as well as de-risk them access long-term funds from DBG.

GNCCI President, Clement Osei-Amoako

In an interview with the President of the GNCCI, Clement Osei-Amoako, he noted that the 750 billion dollars loan advanced to Ghana by the Afreximbank should be used judiciously to help the cedi appreciate against the dollar and other major currencies.

Mr. Osei-Amoako further advised Ghanaians to desist from hoarding the dollars as such activities put pressure on the cedi.

The Representative from the Development Bank Ghana, Maame Ahema Wilson said the Bank is ready to support businesses with long-term loans, which will help them succeed.

She therefore underscored the importance of the workshop.

The Regional Trade Officer from the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Emmanuel Bonney noted that programmes such as this afford them the necessary opportunity to give assistance to industry players for them to be competitive.
