The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has strongly condemned a drone incident that left two Ghanaian nationals injured near Dubai International Airport.

In a press release issued on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, the Ministry said it had been informed by authorities in the United Arab Emirates that the two Ghanaians sustained injuries following a drone-related incident in the vicinity of the airport earlier in the day.

The Ministry condemned the act, stating that any attack that endangers civilian lives and critical infrastructure poses serious risks to public safety and international transport systems.

According to the Ministry, Ghana’s ambassador to the UAE has led a delegation from the embassy in Abu Dhabi and the consulate in Dubai to visit the injured Ghanaians in hospital. Officials say the victims’ injuries are not critical and they are expected to make a full recovery.

The Ministry also urged calm while consular officials continue to provide assistance to the affected individuals and work closely with authorities in the host country.

Authorities in Ghana say they are closely monitoring the situation and will continue engaging the relevant institutions as necessary. The government also expressed concern over the incident and extended its sympathies to the injured individuals and their families.

The Foreign Affairs Ministry reiterated Ghana’s commitment to protecting the welfare of its citizens abroad.

It also noted that Ghana is supporting ongoing consultations within the United Nations aimed at achieving a resolution that would bring about a cessation of hostilities.

Meanwhile, Ghanaian nationals living in the Gulf region have been advised to remain vigilant and follow directives issued by Ghanaian diplomatic missions and local authorities.
