Government has expressed deep concern over what it describes as an unprovoked Israeli attack on the sovereign State of Qatar, which has resulted in casualties and destruction of property.

In a statement issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Wednesday, September 10, 2925, Ghana strongly condemned the airstrikes, describing them as a violation of international law and an affront to Qatar’s sovereignty.

“The attack undermines ongoing pursuit of peace between the State of Palestine and Israel.” The statement added

President John Dramani Mahama and the people of Ghana extended their solidarity to the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the people of Qatar. Ghana also commended Qatar’s tireless and impressive commitment towards the resolution of the conflict between the States of Israel and Palestine.

It urged that the incident should not derail Qatar’s diplomatic efforts toward achieving lasting peace.
