Patronage of Public Libraries has been low in this COVID-19 period. However, it has seen a slight increase with the re-opening of schools.

In an interview with GBC News, the Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Library Authority, Hayford Siaw, urged Ghanaians not to entertain any fears in patronising Public Libraries across the country because all the COVID-19 protocols are in place to ensure the safety of the public.

Touching on the Authority’s E-library platform, Mr Siaw said patronage has increased by   400 percent since the onset of the pandemic.

He encouraged more people to register on the Ghana Library Application since it is zero rated. This means that one can have access to the platform even without data.
