Ghana secures 7.9 million euro loan to enhance work of GWCL Water Supply Network

The Minister of Sanitation, Cecilia Dapaah says government has secured a 7,900,000 Euro soft loan from the Uni Credit Bank of Austria to enhance the work of the GWCL Water Supply Network.

Speaking at the Meet the Press Series in Accra Wednesday, July 8, Madam Dapaah indicated that optimisation of revenue through efficient billing and collection will be centrally monitored under the facility.

The Minister further stated that about 80 communal waste containers have been procured by the Greater Accra Sustainable Sanitation and Livelihood Improvement project and distributed within the Metropolitan Area.

She indicated that the Ministry through the GAMA Project has provided access to improved toilet facilities to serve more than 225,000 low income people in 28,000 households within the GAMA area including 240 fit-for-purpose disability friendly schools’ sanitation facilities for over 231 people in the Greater Accra Metropolitan Area.
