The Ghana Statistical Service is encouraging interested persons to register as field officers to take part in the 2020 Population and Housing Census in the Upper West Region.

This is because the region is yet to meet the set number of people required to undertake the exercise.

Speaking to Radio Ghana in Wa, the Regional Statistician Jeremiah Sixtus Dery disclosed that about three thousand field staff are needed to undertake the exercise in the Upper West Region because of its relatively smaller population size.

Mr. Dery explained that while some areas like the Wa Municipality has seen an oversubscription, other areas like the Nandom, Sissala West and Wa East Districts as well as the Lawra Municipality are yet to reach their quotas.
