The Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), Kwesi Agyeman says the Authority has announced precautionary measures being instituted to help prevent the contraction and spread of coronavirus.

He told journalists in Accra that the measures include the placement of notices to guests in establishments to educate them on health conditions, the need to place hand sanitizers in public areas and for frontline staff to wear Personal Protective Equipment at all times.

Also, guests are being screened before entry into hotels and guest houses. There is also regular staff screening, proper handwashing with soap under running water.

There are also regular visits by health inspectors to ensure that the facilities adhere to the new rules.

Mr Agyeman urged all hoteliers to publicly display the health measures in their institutions, so as to prevent the spread of the virus.
