Ghana Tourism Authority set to register and license all attraction sites

The Ghana Tourism Authority, GTA is set to register and license all Attraction Sites Tour and Site Guides to regularize their operations in the Western Region and the country as a whole.

The exercise, which is also in accordance with Legislative Instrument 2393, is to legitimize the operations of these services. Speaking in an interview with GBC NEWS, the Western Regional Director of the Authority, George Nkrumah Ansere said the exercise is also to promote and sustain the tourism industry in the region.

He said the GTA has been mandated to conduct such exercise to allow the Tour Guides, Site Guides and Attraction Sites to operate without any hindrance. Mr Ansere said anyone who fails to comply with the directives will be sanctioned accordingly.

According to him, they are to visit their outfit on or before April 30 to get registered and licensed for their operations.

Mr Ansere said the tour and site guides will be trained by the Authority to equip them with the right information for their work.
