Management of the Ghana Water Company Limited, says it is aware that most areas within the Western part of Accra are experiencing erratic water supply.
It has however given the assurance that the company’s engineersare working around the clock to resolve the challenges to restore regularflow of water.
A statement signed by the Chief Manager of the Company, Stanley Martey noted that the challenge has caused a reduction in the volumes of water produced at the treatment plant and decreased pressure in the distribution system. This has resulted in irregular flow of water to communities in hilly areas and cut off water supply to the extreme ends of the distribution network.
Areas currently affected include, Kasoa, Nyanyano, Bortianor, Weija, Gbawe, Malam, Anyaa, Kwashieman, Darkuman, Bubuashie, Fadama, Laterbiokorshie, Mataheko, Korle-Bu, and KorleGorno. The rest are Dansoman, Agege, Mamprobi, AbosseyOkai, Kaneshie, Odorkor, Sowutuom, Achimota, North Industrial Area, North Kaneshie, Tesano and adjoining communities.
The statement said water supply will resume immediately the problem is rectified.
