GBC’s Benjamin Willie Graham among six Ghanaian journalists and bloggers selected on a week curated programme in France

Six Ghanaian journalists and bloggers including GBC’s Benjamin Willie Graham are in France for a week’s curated programme.

The Educational and Exchange programme is sponsored by the Frenchò Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs through the French Embassy.

The participants are Presidential Correspondent, Maxwell Ofori, Ms. Eugenia Akorfa Kumi, a Broadcast Journalist with Metro TV, Mr. Benjamin Willie Graham GBC Sports Presenter, Entertainment Presenter /producer with GhOne TV, Ms. Adwoa Amofa Osei and celebrated bloggers Mr. Augustus Kyei Koranteng, aka Kobby Kyei and Mr. Joshua Buernortey Boye-

Learning Areas:

The six are expected to learn various aspects of the French culture and system. The programme also provides an opportunity for the Media Personalities to become involved in journalism practice in that country.
Programme Manager, Mr. Joel Savary said the programme will enable the “Ghanaian journalists to share professional and cultural experiences with their French counterparts’ ‘.
The themes include sports, arts and culture, professional capacity building and verification of information ie fight against information manipulation democratic and globalization issues; Islam and circularism, economic attractiveness and sustainable development.

Itinerary:

On the first day of their visit, the journalists will tour a Business France, the agency responsible for the international development of French companies, international investments in France and the economic promotion of France where they will interact with the District Rector of oķternational cooperation, Mr. Phillipe YVERGNIAUX.

They will also be taken on a tour of the Premieres Lignes, an Independent Documentary Production Company Headquartered in Paris. Additionally, they will observe at first hand the operations of
French Private international news agency, Agence France-Presse also with its Headquartered in Paris.

On Tuesday May 31, which is the second day of the programme , the International Project Manager for The Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music (SACEM), will welcome the team to its office and take them through the rudiments of how they guarantee authors’ intellectual property rights over their works. On the same day , they will visit the ministry of Europe and foreign affairs to interact with the Assistant to the Deputy Director Sub-Directorate for Human Rights and Humanitarian Affairs.

Subsequently, they will visit the editorial offices and interact with journalists of France 24.

Ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the French Sports Ministry is fervently preparing the what is touted as the biggest event ever organised in France, and as part of their visit, the journalists will have a bird’s eye view of the designated sites in the company of French Ambassador for Sport Mrs Laurence FISCHE.

The French football federation(FFF) will later host the team where they will be engaged in the activities of the FFF from the awareness of very young athletes to international competitions.

The highlight of the trip will be a dinner cruise on the 777-kilometre-long river in northern France known as le seine.

The team is expected to report to the Ghanaian audiences what they will experience in France, particularly what Ghana can learn from the French country.
