GJA Awards Scheme receives GHC10, 000 supports from GCB

Ghana’s largest and leading financial institution, GCB Bank Ltd, has donated GH¢10,000.00 towards the organisation of the 23rd Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Awards, scheduled for Saturday, October 27,  2018.
Chairperson of the GJA Awards Committee, Dr. Doris Yaa Dartey, received the cheque for GHC10,000.00, at a short ceremony, held at the Ghana International Press Centre.
She expressed gratitude to Management of GCB for the continuous support of the Awards Programme each year.
Corporate and Brands Communication Manager for GCB Bank, Mr. Emmanuel Kojo Kwarteng, who presented the cheque on behalf of the Management of the Bank, said the media played a key role in disseminating information for the benefit of industry and the public.
He said the Bank attached importance to the work of the media and offered financial support as a way of deepening democracy and good governance.
GCB, he added, had been an ally of the GJA and the media and gave the assurance that the Bank would continue to extend support to enhance professional standards and development.
The presentation ceremony was witnessed by the Chairman of the National Media Commission (NMC), Mr Kwasi Gyan Apenteng and other members of the Committee.
The GJA Awards is the foremost awards scheme for journalists who use great content and life touching reportage to promote good governance in Ghana.
GCB Bank has over the years been a key sponsor of the awards ceremony.
