GJA, SIC sign MOU for 20 million free insurance cover for members

The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) and the State Insurance Company (SIC) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for ¢20 million free insurance policy for 500 accredited GJA members who will be covering the 2020 election.

According to the General Manager in charge of Operations at the SIC, Faris Attrickie, each journalist has up to ¢40,000 for death and permanent disability and three thousand three cedis per month, for temporary disability not exceeding twelve months.

Mr. Attrickie said democracy is impossible without the media, therefore, the SIC is setting the pace for other Corporate bodies to support journalists in their line of duty. He said it is a national responsibility to support the media to help develop the nation.
