General Secretary of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), Thomas Musah says he is confused about distortions by the GES on the non-payment of Legacy arrears of Teachers.

He told GBC’s Radio Ghana they have met President Akufo-Addo over the issue yet the GES is maintaining its false ground.

“We want to meet the Ghana Education Service for them to tell us if they claim that they have paid all legacy arrears, then they should give the teacher who are talking the opportunity for verification whether or not they have received theirs.”

About forty thousand teachers across the country are worried over the non-payment of legacy allowances since 2012.

Reports reaching Radio Ghana indicate that the Ghana Education Service is confusing government about the truth.

Speaking to George Ankrah, a teacher, Kojo Mensah said government only paid him three months of the arrears remaining 19 months across board.
