Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Bernard Okoe Boye, has hinted of a possible reduction in the cost of COVID-19 tests conducted at the Kotoka International Airport.

In an interview with a Radio Station based in Accra, Dr. Okoe Boye, said negotiations based on economies of scale are far advanced with the firm carrying out the testing at the Kotoka International Airport.

He said government’s aim is not to make profit but to help preserve the lives of citizens.

Passengers who arrive at the Airport as part of COVID-19 protocols are required to take a test at the cost of 150 dollars per person.

The Minister’s comments follow calls by the Minority challenging the legality of the charge.
