Government has denied selling Aviation Lands to private developers.

Minister for Lands and Natural Resources Kwaku Asomah-Cheremeh who said this at the Meet-the-Press Series in Accra explained that part of those lands especially at La TS, La Nkwatanang and La wireless have been divided into three, with a part belonging to the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority.

The other parts belong to government and the La Traditional Authority.

His comments follow claims by Staff of the Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) that their lands are being sold to private developers which according to them is affecting their operations.

The Minister however questioned the locus for their claims and further gave explanation to the state of Lands there.

He said the staff of the Ghana Civil Aviation do not understand the real issues on the ground.

The Minister also denied government’s sale of excavators. He stated that the ministry is in possession of only 157 excavators and taking inventory of all seized excavators.

According to him, claims by the opposition NDC that government has sold all excavators are not true.
